Design for Everyone
CIVFRAME is built with universal design in mind. Our system supports facilitators and learners by providing adaptable, inclusive mission environments for a wide variety of needs and learning styles.
- Multi-modal Activities: Supports visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and hands-on learners through mission variety.
- Neurodiverse Role Support: Roles can be adjusted or swapped based on a learner’s comfort with leadership, collaboration, or solo problem-solving.
- Flexible Team Sizes: Missions work for 2–4 participants by default. Accommodations for larger or smaller groups are available.
- Scaled Tasks: Every mission can be scaled up or down in complexity depending on learner ability and facilitator preference.
- Quiet Zones: Recommended use of quiet breakout areas for overstimulation recovery or focused tasks.
- Assistive Communication: Visual cards, role symbols, and simplified mission flows help bridge communication gaps.
- Low-Tech & No-Tech Ready: While tech enhances CIVFRAME, all missions are printable and runnable in analog form.
Creating Safe, Collaborative Spaces
Facilitators are encouraged to foster environments where every participant feels empowered to contribute. Inclusion is not a feature — it's a mission parameter.
- Use consent check-ins and role opt-outs as standard practice.
- Let learners switch roles between missions or rounds.
- Provide space for error, growth, and peer support.
- Make room for different types of success, not just task completion.
